Revoke access and delete imported data
WingMate provides separate controls for disconnecting a provider and deleting the information previously imported from it, including information used to personalize its AI dating guidance and relationship insights.
Disconnect a provider
- Open WingMate and sign in.
- Open the Connect tab.
- Select the connected provider.
- Choose Disconnect and confirm.
Disconnecting revokes WingMate’s active provider connection and removes its stored authorization tokens. It does not automatically remove data that you previously chose to import.
Steam is handled more simply: choosing Disconnect and delete imported data immediately removes the linked SteamID, imported public game snapshot, private playtime summary, and derived gaming-style signals from WingMate. Nothing is placed in the seven-day social-import buffer.
Spotify is also deleted immediately. Choosing Delete connection & information stops Spotify access and removes WingMate's stored token, account profile snapshot, top artists, tracks, genres, and related icebreaker context. Spotify information is not placed in the seven-day buffer and this action does not alter the original Spotify account or listening history. WingMate never uses Spotify information for AI analysis or compatibility ranking.
Delete imported data and derived insights
- Open the Connect tab in WingMate.
- Select the provider whose information you want removed.
- Choose Delete Imported Data and confirm.
As soon as WingMate accepts the request, it revokes provider access, stops refresh and analysis, removes provider-derived personality cards, observations, traits, and profile synthesis from use, and blocks client access to the imported copy.
Except for the immediate Steam and Spotify lifecycles above, WingMate keeps the normalized source copy in an inaccessible buffer for seven days. If you choose Import for the same provider before the original deadline, WingMate cancels the scheduled deletion and restores that exact buffered source without another provider API request or file upload. Repeating the deletion request returns the existing request and does not restart or extend the deadline. The source copy and connection metadata are scheduled for permanent deletion from WingMate's active systems seven days after the original request, normally during the first automated cleanup sweep after the deadline; the sweep runs every 15 minutes.
Restoring the buffer does not restore revoked provider authorization, deleted AI evidence, observations, traits, profile synthesis, or prior analysis consent. Those remain deleted and analysis remains off. You may separately reconnect a provider to refresh its data and separately opt in to new analysis. WhatsApp has no ongoing provider authorization, so its reviewed source can be restored without re-uploading the export.
This delay helps prevent repeated import-and-delete activity and unnecessary provider/API processing expense. It does not permit WingMate to use or show the buffered information. It also does not delete the original content from a connected provider, WhatsApp, or a file saved on your device.
Revoke YouTube access from Google
You can separately revoke WingMate’s Google authorization from Google Account connections. Revocation stops future YouTube API access but does not itself instruct WingMate to delete information already imported, so also use the deletion control above.
Request help
If you cannot access the app, email support@wingmate.tech from the address associated with your WingMate account and write “Data deletion request” in the subject. We may need to verify that you own the account before processing the request.
Delete face scans without deleting your account
Open Connections → Identity and safety → Face Scan and choose “Delete face scan and related data.” This withdraws face-scan consent and removes saved face references, scan records and diagnostics, and private 3D face material. Your profile photos remain under your photo controls. A face scan is required to use WingMate, so the app asks for a new scan before you continue; deleting it does not delete your account. You can also send a deletion request to the contact on this page.
Restriction records
Account deletion may leave a pseudonymous email-hash restriction record for a safety-restricted account, and a declined application may leave a similar record. These records prevent evasion of a review decision, have no automatic expiry, and may be reversed through authorized review. Contact support to request review. See the Privacy Policy for profile-photo cleanup and retained evidence exceptions.
